Press Release

Harmony Hammond included in the group exhibition Queer Threads, curated by John Chaich at the San Jose Museum of Quilts & Textiles, CA.

The institution's press release follows:

Queer Threads presents nearly three dozen artists connected to the West coast who are remixing fiber and textile traditions to explore contemporary LGBTQ ideas. Informed by fluidity, intersectionality, and materiality, many works present queer content fully executed through thread-based processes such as crochet, embroidery, and weaving, while others abstract these mediums through painting, photography, printmaking, and video. The exhibition, organized by independent curator John Chaich, ponders how fibers and textiles uniquely provide agency for queer artists.
