The artist Luis Camnitzer becomes "independent" of his works at the Center del Carme Cultura Contemporània (CCCC) with the exhibition '(insert title here)' which includes a selection of pieces created between 1967 and 2024 that they seek to reflect on the power of naming things and that merge art and education.
The exhibition, which can be visited in the Dormitory room of the Center del Carme between May 15 and September 8, invites the public to participate "fully", through different situations, giving them the power to name and "count down" the works.
The curatorship of the exhibition has been carried out by the education and mediation department of the Consortium of Museums in close collaboration with the artist and, on the occasion of International Museum Day, whose motto for 2024 is 'Museums for Education and Research', the exhibition is complemented by the publication of the book 'uselessness of art as education', by Luis Camnitzer himself.
L’artista Luis Camnitzer s'”independitza” de les seues obres al Centre del Carme Cultura Contemporània (CCCC) amb l’exposició ‘(inserte título aquí)’ en la qual s’arreplega una selecció de peces creades entre 1967 i 2024 que busquen reflexionar sobre el poder de donar nom a les coses i que fusionen l’art i l’educació.
La mostra, que podrà visitar-se a la sala Dormitori del Centre del Carme entre el 15 de maig i el 8 de setembre, convida al públic a participar “de ple”, a través de diferents situacions, donant-los el poder de nomenar i “desnombrar” les obres.
El comissariat de la mostra s’ha dut a terme des del departament d’educació i mediació del Consorci de Museus en estreta col·laboració amb a l’artista i, amb motiu del Dia Internacional dels Museus, el lema dels quals per al 2024 és ‘Museus per l’Educació i la Investigació’, l’exposició es complementa amb la publicació del llibre ‘in_utilitat l’art com a educació’, del propi Luis Camnitzer.
