The institution's press release follows:
Tyler is excited to welcome this year's Wolgin lecturer Jennie C. Jones, an interdisciplinary artist who blends a modern minimalist style with music — most typically, jazz. Her work is a cross-pollination between visual art and sound, and encourages the viewer to consider the meaning of unconventional materials when incorporated into traditional mediums such as painting, sculpture, sound, and installation. Jones has exhibited at The Arts Club of Chicago, The Contemporary Arts Museum of Houston, The Kitchen in New York, and the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden at the Smithsonian, among others. Their latest show, a solo exhibition at The Guggenheim Museum, will open in January 2022.
Event registration information to be announced.
The Jack Wolgin Annual Visiting Artist Symposium is supported by the Wolgin Endowment at the Tyler School of Art and Architecture.
